Day 5: L U C E R N E
Well, it’s pretty tight in the car…there are seven of us! Faruk at the helm, Suley the sturdy co-pilot; then Murat, Auntie Selva, and Julie; back row: Ayda and Joad (SQUASHED big time!).

We take the very windy scenic route through the hills of Switzerland, observing the country side, cows and quaint quite towns. The flowers are all in bloom and the cities are lively with tourists!
We take the long route but finally make it to Interlaken (the half-way point) for lunch. A great little town, but grossed out by the horse meat on the menu! There are parachutists floating down
against the backdrop of these amazing and regal mountains. The lake is spectacular and very impressive. We are surrounded by stunning mountains and the city rests inside the valley. Gorgeous! But we must press on!
Onward to Lucerne (or "Luzern") depending who’s speaking! The famous wood bridge that burnt down a few years back attracts quite a few visitors. We are still heavily stuffed from lunch but find
a way to enjoy some ice cream! Poor us.We have a short walk around and again marvel at the scenic view of the mountains, lake and ancient architecture. There must be some formal event going on as we see quite a few people made up in their best! Even an authentic Japanese kimono is worn! Impressive with this heat.
We make it back to Geneva in time for supper around 9PM. Tomorrow is Lyons!
